If you
have taken my
30 day challenge, congratulations!
Now that
you know
what your family uses; you are ready for the next step: Tracking
Your Inventory.
Remember
that list I
had you keep with your month long food storage needs?
Well,
let me show
you how to turn that list into an organized system; so that you will
always know exactly what you have on hand. And how much more you
will need to keep a healthy supply.
Simply
take a spiral
notebook. I like to add a pencil, and it fits well in my purse at
this size. This one even has an elastic built in so that it stays
nice and tight.
Look at
your list
and start to divide it into can foods, like fruits and vegetables;
boxed foods like cereals and crackers; and condiments like ketchup
and salad dressings.
With a
pen, write
down how much of each item you think you need, for saying, a one year
supply. This goes into the first column.
With a
pencil, in
the second column, write down how much you will need to purchase.
For
example: I need
12 cans of pineapple, for one year. I write that down in pen. I
know that I only have 10 in stock, so in the last column, I will
write how much I need to purchase. Next time I go to the store or
next time there is a case lot sale, I will know to pick up 2 more to
fill my supply. Then, I will simply update my little notebook. This
way I will never overbuy and always know what I have in stock.
Pretty
simple, huh?
If you
are

site; just go to Resources and click on Tools and you will be able to
download it right away.
Good
luck!, and have
fun
