PLEASE NOTE: Provident Living® is a registered trademark of
Provident Living Center. Provident Living Center was registered long
before the LDS Church set up its own site with a similar name.
The ProvidentLiving® Association is a collection of websites
devoted to
providing a well-rounded experience for those seeking to develop a more
prepared, provident life style. Each site will emphasize different
aspects of provident living. One is devoted entirely to free
training, others provide a database to track your progress, some
provide more information as well as products, and the last is devoted
to news and current events.
Together, we try to provide everything you need to learn. We
refer to each other interactively, so please feel free to bookmark each
of the sites on a group and go between us.
If you see an area that we haven't provided adequate resources for
emergency preparedness, food storage, and provident living, please
contact us.
Ask a dozen
people what the term "provident living" signifies, and I
bet at least half of them will say "living within your means." Almost
invariably they will mention pinching pennies, avoiding luxuries,
stretching supplies and making do with meager resources.
Let
me give you another perspective. I like to define provident living
simply as accumulating more wealth than you expend. By "wealth" I mean
a combination of money, possessions, skills, and friendships. Why
skills and friendships? Because skills help ensure that you will always
be able to find a way to make a living, and friends can give support
and provide connections in times of need.
Provident Living
Center was organized to help people achieve that
goal. The company was started in January of 1993 by Jared and Jeannie
Sorensen, who had been involved for many years in various emergency
preparedness programs.

Ingredients
Commercial dry mixes use dehydrated products such as butter, eggs,
cheese, milk, shortening, etc. You can use these same ingredients at
home by making your own mixes. You might just find many of the
ingredients on your home food storage shelf collecting dust. Once you
learn how easy it is to use these basic dry ingredients,
you’ll never
want to return to “old-fashioned” cookin’
again!
